Ok, so I am looking to convert my manual steering to power steering.

I have been looking for a pump and gearbox but I have recently been told the column is a different length. This makes sense to me but I wanted to bring it up here for verification.
Additionally, does anyone know if there is an adapter for the column to make the conversion... Um... Less expensive?

Thinking best look for a donor truck to get all you need. In the area where you live, are there Pick and Pull auto parts salvage yards. Tho very old, you might find what you need. Don't let old and used scare you, the pump and box are available rebuilt if needed. It's all the other stuff that's hard to get, the column, brackets, pulleys. On a note, which I can't verify, the inner shaft of the steer column may just be shorter on Power Steering, but the outer the same on both manual and P S.
