Might as well throw together a thread of the last 17 months worth of progress on the Gray Ghost.

    Day I brought her home...01/04/2104

I fooled around with a complete OEM HID retrofit upgrade during the summer. Pics just didn't do it justice though, so how about one from the summer vacation in coastal Maine?

In October I bolted on the RAS...great addition!

Along came December and I had the chance to bolt on F150lifts.com BOSS coilovers...raised the front end ride height a solid 2"

I then ditched the retrofit early this year in favor of the factory HIDs and a Rigid DOT approved fog light setup. Retro'd them into a set of factory fog lights that I opened up:

Their beam is outstanding...this is fogs only

Lastly I've ended up with a Bakflip F1 and some custom bike mounts atop the cover. Powercoated hardware and all.

I'd be happy to answer any questions anyone might have about any of the items I've added. That mostly covers the additions for now. The tint and EZ Down aren't detailed here, but they were much needed and welcomed additions.

The footrest is brilliant. What did you make it out of and what's holding in place?

Thanks Shaun. Always a work in progress, just that the progress is slow at the moment. :)

Kenneth, I was stupid a year ago and didn't take any photos of the progress. However, it's 2 sections of 2x4 and a small piece of 1by at the very top on the backside to keep the top from tipping back . All wrapped in auto grade carpeting and held in place by a pile of extreme velcro...hook on the bottom side to grab the factory carpet, and loop adhered to the plastic kick panel to accept the loop that is stapled to the side of the footrest. It's on the same angle as the natural accelerator angle and placed at the same distance from the seat as the skinny pedal. Makes for a nice square seating position. Great for long rides!

Thanks Neil. Just drove from VA to NJ and got 20.0 mpg hand calculated (20.9 on the lie o meter) which ain't half bad for a 6100lb gasser that I drive like I stole it. If I drive it like a normal human the results are pretty nice. Love hearing those two small turbos spool up though.

    Truck looks awesome!

    Love my Bakflip F1!

Maine is a great state, spent a fair amount of time there visiting family.

    Thanks!

I too love the F1. I ditched a soft roller for it recently and it was a great move.

My in-laws have a little vacation spot on the coast of Maine near Rockland. Gorgeous place. Sucks getting there though.

I had an extang on the last truck, liked it for a folding cover when I didnt use the bed much, but it just didnt look good and when you needed the whole bed it just failed horribly.

Family for me is over in New brunswick. Used to be in freeport.

Logged another 870ish miles between Thursday and Sunday going from VA to NJ to PA to hunt and back. Two fillups, hand calc'd, at 20.0 and 18.4 mpg respectively. That's with 2 loaded golf bags, two overnight bags, my heavy ass hunting duffle, and some other odds and ends. For a 6100lb truck before loading in gear I'd say that's pretty solid.

20.0 is my best to date with this truck...previously 19.8 mpg running up to Maine.

    Everything gets logged here:
