Well I picked up my first super duty the other day and the work has already begun!

I bought it knowing it needed a new motor and got a screaming deal on the truck. So I dropped it off today to have a new 5.4 dropped in. Along with a whole list of items to be done.

I will add more pics soon

    Linex rocker panels and flares
    Tonnue cover

What is wrong with the original motor?

  7. im2tall33 Founding Member

Oh duh I probably should have put that in lol

The cam phasers and vct valves (i think that is what they are called) were shot. My 5.4 sounded like a power stroke at idle lol. And yes I could have just replaced them but I figured why not start fresh with a new motor? They price difference was only about $1500 and now I will have a 100k mile warranty on the motor.

For the price difference, I would have gone the same way. And for the record, you should have put why you were changing it in....lol

    Thanks man lol.

Stopped by the shop this morning and the mechanic was sitting in the empty engine bay lol.

I can picture your 6'4" butt sitting in the driver's seat with you feet hanging through the floor board trying to get around the place....lol

Hey I'm 6'7"! Lol. Honestly there is no way I could reach the ground from the seat lol. I need to measure the distance from cab to ground when I get it back. I have to hop pretty good to get in it.

I just got home and my tuner is here! Can't wait to try it out!

Well the new motor is almost done.

Tomorrow it heads over to the linex shop for linex rocker panels and linex on the fender flares.
