my 78 f250 has made a very long journey and its almost reached the end

    the remaining parts are a 400m 6.6 liter engine for the truck to actually work

    I don't have one, but a couple of notes:

    - The 400 has never been called a 400M. Ford has always simply called it "400". The 351M uses the M to distinguish it from the 351C and 351W.

    - Get a 1975+ version if you plan on keeping it stock. If you get an early one, the compression is higher and it has more problems with pinging/detonation unless you run premium fuel.

    351W - Each valve cover will have 6 bolts. Transmission bell housing will have a small block pattern. Radiator hose is on the intake manifold.

    351M and 351C - Radiator hose fitting sticks straight up from the top of the block. Valve covers use 8 bolts.

    Telling a 351M from a 351C:
    351C Transmission bell housing uses the small block pattern (like a 351W does). Motor mounts use 2 bolts.
    351M Transmission bell housing uses the big block pattern. Motor mounts use 3 bolts.

    Yeah, I thought it would be. The 351C was never in that model truck from the factory so it would have to be swap.
