As some of you know, I like restoring old tooling. So far I've restored a lathe, milling machine, screw machine, and honing machine.

This is my latest find. A set of slip rolls that will roll 3/8ths inch plate 4' wide. It was a shop built roller built over 50 years ago! Tomorrow I'll start the tear down and put all the parts in my hot tank. Once everything is cleaned up I'll paint and then reassemble...

Old school! Don't need no stinkin' computer to operate that! Just someone with a little knowledge! How tight can it roll a piece of steel?

Looks like a IH transmission on there......

The old guy I got it from was rolling 3/8ths plate in a 7" circle.
Not sure on the transmission Charlie, but it has an overdrive built into the rear case. It has WG on the case so I assume it is a warner gear?

All my tooling is old school! My 18X72 lathe was built in 1905, and my mill was built in 1910......

7" is a tight circle for 3/8s plate!

I've only had it for a week and I have orders for some fire rings. I do love old equipment!

Far from a toy Ken. My tooling has to make me $$$$$$$$...

You might want to make them a little bigger than 7"! 20" works, (old truck rim size) but is a little small for a big group. I'd go 3' diameter if it were me. 6" flat bar and weld some feet on the bottom about 2" high to hold it off the ground.

They want them 24"X 16" high, with a removable grate on the top.

They want a contained fire ring. I'm guessing a bottom too? Something you can have on a patio?

They want spikes on the sides so they can drive them into the ground, but no bottom. Going on the ground in an RV park.

Looks like there might be a lot of stress on that transmission' input bearing with nothing out where the pilot bearing was.
