hi I have a 1990 ford f250 7.3 idi 5sp and my steering wheel wont tilt I push the turn signal forward but I cant get it to move up and I don't wanna break the turn signal any suggestion on how I can get it to work? any helo is much appreciated thanks

 

Silly question here, did it used to tilt?
Not all of those trucks had tilt steering columns

 

I don't know to be honest I got the truck and never tried to tilt it till now but if so that may be the case but when I push the lever forward it moves slightly like it wants to go further but cant

 

What model truck?
xlt, lariat are the only ones with tilt
IF it is tilt, pull gently back towards you, while gently shaking on the wheel, then push forward. it should go

You can look at the slot around the turn signal arm, on non tilt, looks like a slot, up and down
tilt looks like a plus sign, up and down, forward and back
