    Firewall Stampings--1949 F-1

    Hi:

I am restoring a barn find and found these letters and numbers on the firewall:

RH FI 4 30L 7522 (see attached photo)

Any help decoding this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much. 1949 F-1 010.jpg #ad

    1st code is plant-RH
    2nd code is 1/2 ton-f-1
    3rd code is day - 30
    4th code is month- L (12)
5th code is serial #-7522 (build sequence)

That is the serial # of your truck. RHF130L7522

Thanks. Any idea what the number "4" means?

    4 is the color. I don't have a color chart for 1949, so I can't help there
