    Hi all - New guy here.
    I recently got a 1972 F-100 custom trim (automatic) and I'm excited to add a classic to go with my 17 GT.
    As I start out on this journey Ive been trying to do research and had some questions.
    Based on the VIN, (F10GLN96310) I believe I have the 302windsor, unless it was replaced.

    I'm not planning on doing too much, as it's a family heirloom however I was looking into converting to power steering as well as A/C since I'll be in Florida with it. (ittl live inside a garage).

    Wanted to post here as I'm sure I'll be back with more questions and also to see if anyone had gone through a similar conversion process or had any extra insight etc.
    Thanks!!

    Hey BtorSixty, welcome to FTZ! Beautiful Truck, Very Nice! Your VIN or warranty plate says,
    F10 = F-100, 2WD
    G = 302, 8 cyl
    L = Built at Michigan Truck Plant
    N96310 = Built, Mar 1972

    Maybe this is where you got your 302 info, but you can use it to decipher the rest of your warranty plate on the left door.

    Power Steering was an option, so you should be able to find everything used from a donor truck, search pick n pull auto parts yards, etc. The bracketing and pulleys is the main thing for mounting all. As far as the Pump and Steering Box, you could use the used ones you pick up, or opt for Rebuilt Pump and Box with new Hoses and belt. If the used look pretty dry, I'd clean and paint them and if you not happy with, go for the rebuilt's. Cap.

    1978/79 uses a different P/S pump and hoses than 1967/77.
