  1. Brown Falcon Vet Zone Oregon Chapter

Howdy everyone. I spend most of my time on the Oregon Chapter page here. I’m a former Marine, father of 3 boys, husband of a great nurse, and live in Western Oregon. I’ve owned several Ford trucks over the years. 87 F150 300-6, 75 F150 390, 95 F350 7.3, 05 F250 6.0

I recently got rid of my 2005 6.0 F250 and got a 2012 F150 Ecoboost. It has 83k miles and is super clean.

Any must-do mods for these trucks?

The only issue I’ve had with it so far is a bad miss at full throttle. From what I’ve read I’m going to at least change out the spark plugs with the Motorcraft SP 534 iridiums and probably do new coil boots at the same time.
The other cause for this I’ve heard of is condensation from the intercooler getting sucked into the intake. My truck has not had the Ford TSB done yet and I’m not sure I like the idea of having part of the intercooler blocked off. The other route to fix this is drilling a 1/16” on the bottom driver side of the intercooler to let the moisture escape.

Which route have you gone, TSB or drill a hole, and what has the result been?

Problem solved. Drilled the 1/16” hole in the bottom driver side CAC, new SP580 plugs installed, new Motorcraft coil boots installed. No more missing or stuttering at full throttle. The old plugs were all over .040
