Can someone please tell me what oil filter goes on the 1989 f250 2wd 351 w. I have tried 5 different ones and none fit. Three of them go on half way and then get super tight. I checked for burrs and all that. I’m at a loss and so are the people that work at auto zone. Oreilys and napa.
    Tried the following
    Wix51372
    Fl-820s
    Stp-sba
    Stp-s16
    Mobile 1-301a.

    Ford FL1A.

FL820S is used on the 4.6L, 5.4L and 6.8L, and I believe it uses a metric thread.
    FL1A uses an SAE thread.

    BKW and captchas like this.

This one didn’t work either. The wix51515 seems to be holding in the oil. We’ll see when I take it down the road

FL1A should work, it's been used on various Ford v8's for decades before the modular V8 came along, and the FL1A is the one Ford specifies in their manuals. Only way I can't see it working is if threads were stripped/damaged.
