overdrive light flashing

    Hi I have a 1999 Ford F-150 with the 5.4 and 4r70w transmission about a week ago i had the overdrive light start flashing otherwise it drives completely normal and the overdrive button still works just wondering why it may be flashing.

    od light flashing means there is a problem. get a code reader on it and look for a transmission diagnostic trouble code.

    Some of the older, cheaper code scanners will not read Ford transmission codes so if you come up empty take it to Autozone and they will scan it for free.

    Thanks for the help I had not thought about using the code reader at autozone had to change the battery out though so just waiting for it to start flashing again at the moment.
