So i've been struggling with power steering for a little bit now, the system works fine, just sounds pretty rough. I replaced both the high and low pressure lines as well as the gear box and pump. The pump was a remanufacture, which i know to be a gamble as far as quality goes. Anyway i got a vaccum bleed from a shop which helped for a week or so, but it now seems to have returned to its former whining glory. I've heard good things about saginaw pumps, but all i can find for my 460 is the bracket. Am i blind or do they not make one for the 460? Anything helps.

And the year and model of the vehicle you're working on is?

    Saginaw P/S pump:

1972/79 FoMoCo Passenger Cars with Hydro-Boost all V8.

    1975 and later Econoline (E100/350) all I-6 & V8.

Also, not knowing what you have, but I have found that using Ford/Motorcraft power steering lines make a huge difference. Had that problem years ago on my 02 F250. I replaced a line with an aftermarket line, and it whinned afterwards constantly. I had read that aftermarket lines could cause that, so I replaced it again with a Ford line. Problem solved.
