My 2005 f150 has a small lift and 33’s. It gets pretty bad mpg and terrible acceleration. What would be the right gear ratio for my truck to improve acceleration? If you have any suggestions for what brand I’d appreciate it!

What ratio is it at now? Gearing will help with the acceleration, but a lift will almost always hurt mileage.

I believe it’s ratio is 3.73. Would it be a waste of money to change it?

Anything less than 3.73, and it will be a slug with big tires on it.

Yeah, many trucks with stock 31" come with 3.55 or 3.73, so the 33" would be light a 3.55 combo (close). 3.73 or if you want a tad better acceleration 4.11.

    Yup
Because when you put in the taller tire, the 3.73 will drop to say a 3,55 at a 33" tire, 3.10 at a 35" tire, etc.
I found this out the hard way.
