Radio / CD error msg.

    The display on my factory radio/cd player shows "cd error" and no cd is in unit. I keep hearing the drive motor trying to engage and then, the error code is displayed.... Does it mostly while cold - not so much in warmer conditions; now, display is completely out - still can hear unit trying to play a cd that is not in unit. All features work as normal, except no display. POS?

    Had this happen with a 2000 Ranger, disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes reset it the first time it happened. About a year later it happened again, resetting didn't work, the unit needed replacing.
