Any thoughts about small chassis trucks for discussion ?

I was thinking of making that suggest just before I began to tinker with my avatar.

Also vans, and small vans like Aerostar.

Since Explorers are a bit different from Rangers, and the Ranger is a follow on of the Courier (in many respects), and there are similar smaller fords though the families escape my mind at the moment - it seems like a small chassis truck section is reasonable.

I wonder if a separate "HOT ROD" or "RACE PROJECT" area would be beneficial, as opposed to straight stock. Modifications can get kind of crazy and could cause confusion if mixed in with 'Normal' trucks...

There isn't much normal about my '89 anymore.

~and all my therapists told me I wasn't obsessive...

    Originally a 2.3L non turbo. A 351Windsor equals 5.8L, more than double - since 2.3 x 2 = 4.6, which is a V6 engine size.

I'll take care of these on Tuesday. I missed them by mistake, lol. Odd too since I've owned both a Ranger and an Explorer in the past.

I'm not sure what you would call what I have got - but the name FX is already taken.

    XF-100 maybe, for EXPERIMENTAL....

The old F100's were actually intended to be quarter tons, I think. Basic grocery haulers with a 500 lb gross load rating.

    HEY! You KNOW WHAT????

We should try to get "NUMBER DUMMY" to join us....

He is beyond any doubt the most incredible asset we could possibly have among us.

    Shoehorning a V8. :)

Number Dummy is one of the smartest people I've ever known when it comes to Ford parts!

I believe I have an email address, but it's 8 years old. I'll see if it still works.

Wow, I thought I held onto an email address for a long time. That beats me.

I have owned one Ranger & it's my last one. I may put the drivetrain of a old towncar under it to sell it. A good friend of mine has the car. the body is shot but it runs great It has the 300 hp 5.0 & the rear axle is the same width. It might be a decent truck with this in it. I just don't like small cars or trucks. No room inside . My edge rides like a log wagon. It has monroe sensatrac shocks but they didn't help. The same shocks made my F250 ride great.

Loved my '00 Ranger 4x4 Sport.
All of my kids drove it, with my youngest daughter driving it for 3 years, 'til she bought a '11 Fiesta.

I bought it second-hand, with 62,000 miles on the odometer.
This Ranger gave me very little problems.
Upper ball joints (replaced upper control arms at the same time).

One battery, a few months before it got 'killed'.

    Tires.
    Brakes.

    I miss my 91 Ranger . I sold it with only 70K . Stupid of Me ...
I see the Crown Vic being gone as a Real issue . I work on law enforcement vehicles for my County .
I have 2 , 2014 Interceptors waiting on parts that should not be needed . A blown caliper , less than 40 K . A transmission cooler . Interesting one there ... Hit a tabby House Cat ! wiped out the transmission cooler !
Almost as bad as the Chargers ......

I have absolutely NO need for something as large a F-150 for everyday driving, hauling, towing..............If I need more than a Ranger can do, I have a F-250 for that.

I do like the cab space of my 78 F100 better than my last Ranger .
Do I need something this large ?
No . But my bad back likes the bench seat better ...
I sometimes long for my Ranger , Wish I still had it . Heck
I think my Wife misses it more than I do .
