Hi There!

I'm moving to CO next month and would like to buy some snow chains to have on hand when I need them. I have 35 x 12.5 x 17 tires and also 4x4; my current tires are about a month old and are A/T's. I checked my manual and it says only use the s-class chains. Granted this is for OEM wheels, so I'm imagining I should adhere to that requirement with my current larger tires as well, right?

My question is, is there anything tricky I need to be aware of before buying chains for my truck and larger tires? I found the below set and they seem pretty solid and they have the necessary s-class rating. I don't plan on going off road, I just want to have a set in case I need them for required travel during bad snow days. Oh, these mention they don't offer rim protection, do you know what options there are for rim protection? Any DIY ideas people have come up with?

They did have an 'expert' response on this site about this model of chain and confirmed for someone else with the same size tire that they'd work, but I still prefer to hear from actual consumers who have been there, done that to tell me the real deal before buying.

Has anyone bought chains for tires around this size (larger than OEM) and they have some to recommend?
