Hello all, I have yet another project here. This is to replace my worn-out keys for the rig, though they still work.
I contacted Ford and according to them, It seems I cannot have a new set of keys made as Ford's records seem to only go back to 2007.
Looks like I may need to try a locksmith.

a locksmith will have no problems, just remember to tell him the keys are worn and getting hard to use. i cut worn keys 1-2 thousands larger and they work great.

Also, if you have more than one working key now, you can use those to program the chip in the new key, avoiding the cost of having someone do that. If you need instructions let me know, I've got them in a file somewhere.

If you have more than one working key:

Insert a working key in the ignition, turn it to the on (run position but do not start) position for one second, then back off.

Remove the key and within 10 seconds do this again with another working key.

Remove the 2nd key and insert the new unprogrammed key within 20 seconds of removing the 2nd key. Turn it to on (run). Leave for at least 1 second then turn it back off.

You should then see the security light come on for about 3 seconds to show the key has been programmed.

You can do this will multiple keys.
    --------------------------------------------

If you only have one working key: a dealer or locksmith with programming equipment will need to duplicate the programming on your working it.
