Looking to get a new head unit for my F150. Its one of those fancy-smancy units with the volume and turner control in the steering wheel. Problem is while it sounds good and works most of the time, the maps/cd part of it won't work. Sometimes none of the buttons/touchscreen items work.

If I get any of the new units at say my local Best Buy, will any of the steering wheel controls work. So far it doesn't indicate that on any of their website.

 

I believe there's an adapter you have to buy separate from the head unit to make the steering wheel controls work.

 

If I get some excess Christmas money (ok everybody stop laughing ) I might stop by and check them out.
