Some of you may remember back in the late 1990s when the 1999 Super Duty split off from the F150 product line. Prior to this Ford had a variation/hybrid Super Duty available which was a heavier duty version of the F150, called the F-150 7700. "7700" came from its higher GVWR.

According to some spy photos the folks at Truck Trend have posted here, it appears Ford is again toying with the idea of a truck to bridge the gap between the F150 and Super Duty lines.

This test truck appears to be a F150 chassis, but with 8 lug wheels indicating stronger axles and overall load capacity, plus what might be "Super Duty" on the grille.
