Just destroyed my tailgate on my 2016 F150. Fifth wheel was not competely locked onto the hub and it slipped off. I have found a new 2019 tailgate with a backup camera, same color and everything, but I wonder if it will fit? Anyone know anything about this?

I've never read anything more ridiculous, a tailgate from a 3 year old truck is discontinued?

I just looked at FoMoCo's online parts catalog. The 2016 F150 tailgate is available from Ford. It's the same as 2015 & 2017 F150.

There are four different types, as it depends on the model and if it has a step or not.

 

Nope. This is not a classic model so ford never discontinued this part.
