Temp Gauge

    I've got a new Thermostat in my 2014 5.0. Often times after its started the temp gauge will start to go up as its warming then immediately read cold and the temp gauge dummy light comes on. I shut the truck off. Turn it back on after a few mins and the temp gauge reads midway but the radiator fan turns and runs as if the motor is running at a high temp.

    It is most likely the Cylinder Head Temperature sensor. It's what controls the gauge. When the sensor goes out of range, indicating a fault with it, the computer turns on the fan as a safety measure.
