Every once in a while I peruse our MOH recipients and try to read up on more of their stories. At times, their stories are beyond description and the MOH brief just doesn't cover it.

A few days ago, I fell upon Col. Robert Lewis Howard. A three time MOH nominee. The 1st two could not be considered due to where the action took place. As in, we were not supposed to be there.

5 tours in Vietnam and wounded 14 times in 54 months with 8 Purple Hearts.

” The men who fought with Howard all agreed that he should have received a Medal of Honor for each one of his three citations—"

I invite you to consider the actions of this true hero....
