transmission. noise

    I am gaining on some of the issues I have had. I now have good oil pressure & have fixed my over heating problem. The newest problem on my 53 F100 with a 302 engine & C4 transmission, is when I shift from park to reverse or into Drive the transmission. makes a noise like gears grinding. Has any one else had a problem like that?

    What did you do to the truck just previous to this grinding noise first occurring ???

    I had disconnected the tran. linkage because I was going to pull the engine out but ended up not needing to do that.

    I adjusted the linkage today & that looks like it fixed the problem.
