My 2013 F-150 won't start properly or shift into D. When I turn the key, it sounds like cards in a bicycle wheel spoke. Takes a lot of force and jiggling to get the shift to move at all. Is this a cause for replacing the transmission?

 

i'd start with checking all the shifter adjustments make sure nothing is worn out causing the key switch to bind . or not move the linkage fully from park, than make sure you don't have a bad starter and or flex plate ring gear,if you find bad shifter bushings you can get repair kits from https://www.bushingfix.com/ that saves major $$$ over buying a whole cable from ford
