truck swap

    can I take a 1975 2 wheel drive f250 and swap in a 1975 f250 4x4 running gear

    I believe if you don't swap out the entire frame you have to go one of two routes:

    1. Cut the front 4x4 frame and weld it onto the 2wd truck's frame.
    2. Use the existing frame as is and figure out how to hook up the steering since it's not in the same place, and you'll have to do something with the cross member or it will hit the front axle.

    Any of the routes you take will be a big under taking.

    Anyone know if the transmission humps are different?

    I have to ask
    is it possible to swap cabs/beds from 2wd frame to 4x4 frame?

    Yes, you can swap the bodies. But the 4x4 frame is what you need to make a 4x4 truck.

    this would be the easiest way.
    to do a 4X4 conversion on a 2 wheel drive frame you will need to weld a 4 wheel drive frame front section onto the 2 wheel drive frame like Ken said.
    then drill the center of the frame to mount the divorced transfer case.
