Do Machine Tools fit into the Fabrication Corner?

Anyone have any experience with driving a 3-PH, less then 5-HP motor with a VFD.
I have to get my mills running. Power Company says $25,000 to bring 3-PH in.
VFD is a couple grand (2-mills) and a Learning curve.

    Thankz!

Of course they fit! I have 3 lathes, a mill, shaper, and screw machine all on 3 phase, but I have no experience with VFD. I have 240 vac 3 phase in my shop.....

    I do have a rotary 3 phase converter for a 3HP I'd let go for $350.......

I too have a Rotary Phase converter, BUT the VFD gives (supposedly) Full torque at zero RPM and variable RPM to the Rating.
Making my old Setp-belt drive into an infinitely variable speed at the touch of a button.
