VIN on frame

    Howdy everyone. Is there a place on the frame of a 1979 f150 that I can find a VIN number?

    The vin is on the top of the right frame rail about where the seat is, and damn near impossible to see. You'll need something like a small mechanics mirror to see it.
    Its also on the top of the right frame rail to the right of the exhaust manifold and alternator. It's not much easier to see.

    I assume they’d be easy to see if it’s just a bare frame though, right?

    Yes, other than maybe needing to take a wire brush to it. :)

    VIN is 11 digits, will be similar to this: F15HRDC0001

    F15 = F150 2WD Regular Cab Pickup // H = 351M // R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant // DC0001 = 1979

    1979 serial number range: DC0001-FK9000
