Hi all. I just joined the group and I wanted to field your opinions on a project of mine. I bought a 1963 f250 a while back. Truck is all original with the exception of the engine. It ran and drove when I first got it. I started tearing it down for a full frame off last year. Unfortunately I've been either overwhelmed with life or underwhelmed with money and motivation sometimes. My intent with it was to either frame off restore the truck as is, essentially rebuilding it OR to put it on a 1986 f250 chassis I have (with some modifications of course). I'm honestly very much at a loss right now (underwhelmed and overwhelmed) and have even considered selling it for parts, my problem is that I just want to finish what I started. I just want to ask you guys what your thoughts are on what to do with it.

If it were me, and it was all torn apart, I'd use the original frame assuming it's in good shape. I personally would use the original engine if available. Or, repower with an engine from that era. That's just me though.

I'm for restoring it to original myself.

From a practical point of view, I agree with the other opinions post so far. I think you're going to get into a whole lot more work moving it to another chassis. The time and money can be spent not only restoring the current chassis but doing some upgrades to the suspension that'll make it drive better than the stock 86 chassis.

Hi, I'm having trouble finding a new oil pan for my 1966 ford f250 352 v8. Also finding rims has been a major pain. Any help would be great. 1961 - 1966 Ford F100, F250 and F350 Truck Forum Jul 11, 2023
