Where can I learn about my truck?

    Got an f150 84 and 86. But I don't have much knowledge of mechanic work. I'd love to learn how to repair and maintain my truck and other older vehicles. Does anyone know of a way I can learn how?

    Thought about shadowing local mechanics, but noone seems willing. Only want to learn older if possible. 2000 and on don't interest me.

    First thing I'd do is pick up a Chiltons or Haynes repair manual at your local auto parts store. They cover the basics, with step by steps for most stuff. A Ford shop manual is better and more detailed, but they assume you already know your way around.

    personally being a retired master mechanic with over 50 years in dealership shops i always recommend people like you look into adult night school at the local votech ,were many have classes on auto mechanics and teach basics of both new and old,
