Location should be marked on the charts as an Internment / Burial at Sea with all due honors and restrictions in place.

I was at the old RTC-NTC US Navy Base in San Diego last summer. I took a picture of every plaque in place as...We took a walk down the Lost Submarine Memorial Walk... DSC_0824 (2).JPG #ad

The old place had really changed since I was last there in 1986!

inre to the Japanese battleship Hiei being sunk in the Solomon Islands (20 November 1942), several days before, the battleship USS Washington sank the Japanese battleship Kirishima (15 November 1942) in the Solomons.

This was the only battleship vs battleship action to take place in WWII between the US & Japan. The Hiei and Kirishima were sister ships.
