 Was talking to a friend who rebuilds trannys just ba few months ago,and he said that a rebuild on a C6 runs in the neighborhood of $1500.00 bucks. However, that`s with the latest and best hard parts and clutch/steel upgrades.Mine is a 1984 vintage F150.transmission has appx 400k miles on it.Still working good.
    Good luck.Have fun.Be safe.

I was told the C6 is a very tough transmission , good to know you have had no problems with that many miles on one.

I think I could do a rebuild if; had the tools & way to vat out the case. Plus you need a stand, ohold the transmission while you assemble it. I will stick with using my guy for rebuilds. My Ram tows much better now. I hauled my F 250s with it. With the trailer it was about 10,000 lbs. I worked my old 318 hard towing them. I wish I had made some pics.

Merc. V is what I used. This issue has thrown codes. Last time was a hard failure.
Still drives, od light flashes, reverse hesitation.
All was done by the book, even cooler replacement. Mercron V was used. Now to diagnose the solenoid codes. ....... I will wait till tomorrow.

    I only had solenoid d codes. I

    Was a speed sensor code.

Knock on wood, ,,, still going strong. Jasper picked up the old solenoid pack today. It was after market. The replacement I installed was oem. Go figure. ....
    Hope it lasts.
