Just thought I'd give an update to this thread/project. I know it's been 2 years since I started this project, but work and real life stuff just always seem to get in the way haha. Anyway, here are some updated pictures (yes I know I've not gotten very far), and I'll be getting back into the truck building again soon. As you can see, I'm in process of "curing" the massive amounts of cancer (rust). Super daunting task for me, but I'll get it done.

Haha thanks for the compliment man. Greatly appreciate that.

Also, the floor pan is from LMC Trucks. They sell panels as well as what they call a "Floor Pan Assembly". My original floor pan(s) were so rusted and had been hacked up by the previous owner so I decided the best route was to just replace the whole thing. It's definitely a lot of work, but I believe it will have a really good final result.

Will be making some minor modifications to the pan as well as the truck to make the fitment better. Hope to have it at least tacked into place this week, then I'll hang the doors back on the truck and check gaps/lines before making the permanent welds.

There she is! Got the floor pan in place and pretty much all welded up. Took about 3 hours and 2 of us to get it to "fit" but my brother in-law runs a badass autobody shop (has a couple of national award winning custom rides) and he stopped by to lend a hand. He told me that I was being to meticulous (I'm used to working on million dollar CNC's and Robotics where 0.001" is a mile) and that sometimes old trucks like mine require some hammer love.

Well, after showing the truck some hammer love, everything fits! Temporarily hung the doors to check gaps and body lines, and man lemme tell ya, if I hadn't lost my tear ducts in a blender accident as a kid, I'd have shed a few tears.

Anyway, here are some more pictures.

Out of curiosity is your son's a Custom Cab? Have some questions if it is.
