So, here is where things get nasty! The door hinge braces on the front corners are pretty roached, out. Well, since I've come this far, can't leave this, so, time to start cutting some of this out.

Also, the front of the lower rocker on the drivers side was pretty roached. There is also a bracket, that holds a nut to bolt on the lower fender that had been mashed, so that all had to go. I made a patch for the rocker, then re-created the bracket. These will be welded on later.

Deciding to get everything cleaned up by sandblasting it. So, rolled her out into the driveway, and got out my trusty Eastwood pot blaster. Cleaned up pretty nice.

The kick panels on both sides will need to be replaced. So, cut out the bad sections, and made up some patches, and welded them in. I used my Eastwood bead roller to make the flange next to the door opening, matched up almost exactly to the original.

Ready to coat the floor and cowl section. Both will be covered in POR-15, then all of it shot over with epoxy primer.

How bad is the box on your truck Pat?

Well, it could be better John. I have to patch one section of floor. I'm also going to remove the lower fender sections, so I can remove the rust, and fill the seam.

    Pat,

Are rust free 67-72 trucks hard to find there? It's a lot of work you're putting into the body!
