Here I am test fitting the alum. radiator and fabbing up the brackets to mount the fans and shrouds . After getting the radiator in and makind sure the height didn't interfere with the hood. I installed the inner fenders and the hood latch assembly plus the other major components in preparation for building the the turbo headers and all the associated plumbing that goes with the turbos.

Received the Stainless Headers twin turbo build kit for the headers. The collectors are a work of art !! I hope my work will be on par . I will be using Turbosmart wastegates and BOV for this build. IMG_20170907_065111207.jpg #ad

Passenger side . Fit and tacked together. Ran out of J bends and had to order some more for doing the drivers side. Hopefully have them in for the weekend !! IMG_20170911_084121049.jpg #ad

Here is the drivers side and a pic of both turbo's mounted on the headers. Next up is the Blow Off Valves and the Exhaust then on to building the cold side / intercooler . IMG_20170918_082734693.jpg #ad

Working on her as time allows. Here's a few pics of the intercooler install. Had to do a ton of cutting on the core support and inner fenders to make room for the cold side plumbing. 12798.jpeg #ad

Waiting on the flatbed to run it up to my exhaust guy to get the dump pipes bent up and the wastegates installed . Temporarily installed the hood to verify all the clearance . IMG_20171106_135836723.jpg #ad

Got the two pressure sides fabbed up to the intercooler . Now I am waiting on some more 3" Dia. alum tubing so I can finish off the outlet into the carb hat. IMG_20171109_082226655.jpg #ad

    What is the compression ratio?

And how much boost is safe with that compression?

I'm quite familiar with diesels, but not turbo charged gas motors.

    Hi John,
Thanks for watching the build .
The compression ratio is 9.5 to 1 , I will be running about 5 to 8 pnds boost on the street and it can be turned up to around 16/18 pnds. for the track.
How much boost is safe depends on a lot of factors. Everything from the tune to the engine internals affects that.
This engine has all forged internals along with a stud girdle and all ARP hardware holding it together. Should be able to handle the boost these turbo's can support.
The block is the weak link in this build . Most likely it will split through the middle as sbf engines are a thin wall casting. If and when that happens , I will rebuild using a world engines aftermarket block.

Got the exhaust run and am putting on the wastegates . You can see the blow off valve on the intake side just before the carb hat. IMG_20171116_094428620.jpg #ad

This is coming along really well. :)

Well, the wastegates are in and the major fab work on building the turbo system is finished.

Now its time to run the oil pressure feed lines and the return lines to the engine. IMG_20171117_160420398.jpg #ad

Nice job, thanks for the update
Can I talk you into ditching the GM alternator, and going with a 3G Ford?
