that is the rear tank - i have no issues with the rear tank as it is metal with the fill tubes molded into the tank, it is the side saddle tank where the fill tubes are pressed into tank through a rubber grommet.

 

Am so sorry for wasting your time, thought you were looking for rear tank parts.

 

no worries bro! at this point, i am ready to pull trigger on a metal replacement where the fill tube is connected to tank... just tryin to save a hundred bucks

rock auto does not list the 89 F-450, because the first F-450 was not built until 1999 model year.
that is a F-SuperDuty tank. the F-SuperDuty only had one tank, a 33 gallon job all the way in the rear.

 

Please check out the photo I posted of the vin# off of the truck that I removed the tank from. It is a 1989 F450

 

i don't care what the photo says, there is no such thing as a 1989 F-450. go ask ford. the first ford F-450 was not built until 1999 model year.

like i said, the tank you have in your truck is from a F-SuperDuty.

 

Hate to bust yer bubble but the 1989 F450 is a Canadian built ford and yes they had the 450 in 1989, in Canada..

Just curious if you remember where you purchased your parts for the plastic tank? I have the same exact tank and cannot find anything to help form a gasket around where the fillip tube goes into the tank.
