Hello Dale, just curious , aren't those bottles of nutrition usually installed with the valve pointing down? or am I mistaken?

No n2o yet, Gt45 exhaust back pressure was 29 psi with 20 psi boost for a 1.45:1 ratio, vs 37@20 psi for the t72. It feels more free up top like an n.a. engine, with just a touch more rpm, seeing the shift light for the first time in 2nd gear. From a 20 mph roll she gets a little loose now, although it is 48* here today. Love the Gt45! Sounds pissed off too!

Lunati camshaft came today! I picked sbf lobes that I liked and set the lsa and icl.
232/[email protected] and .533 .517 lift with 1.6 rockers.

Jump start on the cam swap tomorrow. Warmed her up and circulated a bottle of ZDDP MAXX, built a spring tool with an old rocker, and removed the inner springs. The tool works great especially on #6 cylinder that's tucked under the cowl a bit.

Initial cam break in was a success. Right back in the shop to install inner springs and repeat procedure tomorrow after dark again, deer hunting season opened today.


Cam gear came off without a hitch, put tension on it and a touch of heat and popped right off. Heated the gear slowly to about 300*f and slid it on by hand on the new cam. Then installed a tension bolt and washer to hold the gear tight while it cooled.

Inner springs installed, just waiting for dark so I don't p o hunters...

 

Should be dark just about any time now and only jack lanterns for hunters...

 

Completed break in. Smooth idle at 800, starts to get choppy below that. Similar to the Crower. Throttle response is excellent. Will see how it rpms sometime this week.
