Check the gauge of the wire you bought, and see if it's the same as the old one (the part nearest the end), if they are the same, it should work. The old fuse is the wire, the part that says fuse link on it, is just the splice. The shop manual shows how to change it, but if you don't have one, any period Ford manual has that procedure.
I have lots of used ones, but I can't get at them till the snow melts and the mud dries, mid April probably.
