The system detects the sway of the trailer through vehicle motion while in tow mode then automatically operates the rear brakes independently to control the sway. This is why you must turn it off when using a load-leveling anti-sway hitch system as the truck system will fight with the hitch. Most load leveling anti-sway hitches come with a tag that instructs you to turn off the vehicle tow anti-sway system.

 

It also reduces engine power to slow the vehicle down and reduce the sway.

 

Ok thanks. Sounds interesting. My yrs of tractor trailer driving I found if it sways to momentarily step on the accelerator to get the trailer going straight again. I can see independently operating the rear brakes.
