We're all watching your beautiful work John! Did you get my message about pictures of your panel? We're looking for pictures for a possible T-shirt. I can think of no better rig for our first T-shirt!

I did get your message Don and will have to get some pictures of it tomorrow as I lost most of the better ones I had when the computer crashed last month.

Are any of the better ones uploaded to your gallery at FTE? If so, you can save them again to your hard drive.

You have a beautiful truck my friend, and if the pics you lost are the ones you have uploaded over there, just re-save them back onto your hard drive.

The original doors to this cab were in fairly bad shape ,the upper metal was badly pitted

so I used the doors that were from my panel originally and started to round the corners.

Repairs then needed to be done to the inside under the weather stripping at the dog leg area on the passenger door.

here is the second piece to the puzzle
    new project 121 Quick e-mail view.jpg #ad

    and it finished
    new project 110 Quick e-mail view.jpg #ad

also needed to replace down the front side
    new project 111 Quick e-mail view.jpg #ad

as well as the bottom inside and outer skin
    new project 107 Quick e-mail view.jpg #ad

the inner replacement panel wasn't as wide as the original door so I had to slice and spread it to fit the contour on the door

In order for me to have a functioning glove box door I needed to make some changes to the hinges because of the dash extension interfered with the way it opened originally
    New project 137 Quick e-mail view.jpg #ad

    New project 139 Quick e-mail view.jpg #ad

these were made not as a hinge but more for a stop
    New project 140 Quick e-mail view.jpg #ad

    New project 141 Quick e-mail view.jpg #ad

a piece of 1/8" x3/8" flat bar was welded to the bottom inside of the glove box door and a piano hinge welded to it
    New project 144 Quick e-mail view.jpg #ad

then temporarily installed with metal screws, after paint I will use pop rivets so there will be more clearance than what the screw heads provide.

I decided to attempt making my own seat belt anchors for the shoulder straps and formed a piece of 16 gauge metal that gets welded into place

    New project 156 Quick e-mail view.jpg #ad

here I welded a piece of 1/2" square bar which will eventually be plug welded to the door post , the 90* bend hooks behind the rear window frame

    New project 157 Quick e-mail view.jpg #ad

drilled and tapped pieces of 1 3/8" round stock 1/2" thick to be welded in for the anchors

    New project 160 Quick e-mail view.jpg #ad

painted them up before installing them
    New project 163 Quick e-mail view.jpg #ad

Next thing was to get the cab sitting back on the frame but I was in need of some rear mount cab brackets and at the time no one could supply me with any and had to resort to making my own, the ones I had were very badly pitted.

It was time to bring the frame in from the freezer and thaw it out

Using my engine hoist and a simple devise made of wood to lift the cab I was ready to install the cab on the frame
