Next test, put test light on top, have someone turn on key and hold like they are starting, see if it lights. If it lights, trouble is at the starter

 

It didnt light up

 

When you tested the trigger wire, which is the small one that pulls off, it lit when someone held the key over?

The test for that is to pull it off the solenoid, put the test light in the wire, and have someone hold the key to start like the other test

 

I did and it lite up

 

Hmmmm. sounds like you got a bad solenoid brand new out of the box.

Could it be a fuse or ignition switch?

 

No, battery is hot to there. If you short the posts and it starts, it's going to be the solenoid if your trigger wire works

I put one on my 90 f 250 a month ago, it lasted a week.
Buy Motorcraft, and you should be good
