    I agree Ken
Even My oldest son's 08 f 150 with the 4.6 (when he still had it) Would flat out scream!
If I were to build another 80-86 F 150, and use a crown vic front end set up, I would go with the 4.6

Is the 4.6 a different block than the 5.0? Do they mount the same as the Windsor block, and what year did the Explorers stop using the 5.0?

Yes, it's a mod motor, Has overhead cams. It is wider, and mounts different.
    2002 in the Explorers
    97 in the Lincoln's
97 for the F 150's ( 97 is a funny year for the pick ups, could be either )

By 97 the in block cam 5.0 had pretty much come to an end.
97 was also the last year for the 460
The 5.0's you see now in the new trucks are also mod motors

Keep in mind, these are power plants that require a computer to run

That's what I want to avoid, I just want to have a broader knowledge to know what to keep my eyes open for and far as swapping parts. One of these days someone is going to scrap a parts truck/suv I might be able to get my hands on.:)

I'd have the room in this project but have to stick with what I have if it's going to see the road anytime soon but own Canadian dollar is killing me at the moment so who knows how long it's going to take.

I want to put a 50's -80's body on the Town car frame, but the Town car refuses to die......LOL

Nope...............it was a pathetic slug, no codes, no issues whatsoever, lucky to get 14-15 mpg, my son left me in the dust with my own 460 F-250 as I clawed to gain on him on a long grade..............he showed me nothing but tailights.
